About Us

Collaborative Research comprising the Collaborative Research Foundation and the Collaborative Research Institute and Collaborative Intelligence along with sub-divisions are not-for-profit un-incorporated organisations.

Collaborative Research exists to promote progress in computing and is privately funded, owned and operated by Gordon Jeffrey (MIEEE, MBCS etc.) in the UK and elsewhere. We are grateful to all our collaborators who contribute knowledge to the Collaborative Research Foundation and the Collaborative Research Institute.

The Collaborative Research Foundation and the Collaborative Research Institute has private IT facilities for authorised users only.

This public information Drupal site is maintained to provide high level information about the CRF, CRI and sub-divisions. Please note this Drupal system is not provided as a secure facility; so users must accept all reasonable risks.

There are numerous sub-divisions as Research Centres in the private IT facilities and are components of the Collaborative Research Foundation (CRF) and the Collaborative Research Institute (CRI). These include the Technology Research Centre, the Virtual Research Centre, the Enterprise Research Centre, the Open Research Centre, the Scientific Research Centre, the Grid Research Centre and the Collaborative Research Institute (CRI) Special Programmes facility.

The Collaborative Intelligence division was set up in Q1 2017. Our Internet domains of collaborativeintelligence.uk and collaborativeintelligence.eu were activated in H2 2017.

The Collaborative Research Foundation and the Collaborative Research Institute runs a private computer grid used for advanced systems computer research. Time on the CRF Linux Rocks based Grid system is allotted to authorised users. Priority is given by merit, ethics and availability of the facility. As an example individual Research & Development for medical advances (pharma, bio), Science research (new concepts) and others. Research systems are typically operated from the CRF and CRI private networks for authorised users.

The Systems Research Manager for the CRF Grid and the Secure Private Network can be contacted via email: wendy.west@crinstitute.org.uk

Specific projects drive progress at the CRF and CRI each under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). The Collaborative Research Foundation and the Collaborative Research Institute have rolling research programmes with closed collaborative groups working on developments using our VPN’s.

We have a special interest in the invisible technology of Software Robotics and AI development. Our narrow A.I. systems interact and collaborate with each other and human partners sharing intelligence and tasking at the macro level. Collaborative Intelligence is a hybrid environment for our narrow A.I. learning machines and human partner co-operation.

Use of the Collaborative Research facilities is limited to authorised users. If you are interested in the technology used by the Collaborative Research Foundation and the Collaborative Research Institute or information about the organisation please email the CRI External Relations Contact: afton.west-well@crinstitute.org.uk.
